We currently enroll students in Grades 7 – 12 (roughly ages 12–18).
No. Horizon High is an enrichment program rather than a diploma‑granting school, so formal school accreditation is not required. All instruction is delivered by expert teachers, and our curriculum aligns with widely recognized provincial / state standards to ensure smooth support for students enrolled in their own accredited schools.
We blend IB‑style inquiry, North American standards, and project‑based “deep learning” units inspired by Michael Fullan’s framework.
We design each student’s timetable around their local time zone and existing commitments. All one‑to‑one lessons and mentor check‑ins are booked individually to fit the student’s preferred hours—ensuring support is always delivered at a comfortable, productive time.
Applicants submit the last two report cards, a brief personal statement, and complete a short placement assessment. No entrance exam is required; we look for curiosity, commitment, and a growth mindset.
We follow a need‑based enrollment philosophy—when a student is the right fit, cost will never stand in the way. Please contact our admissions team for the current fee schedule and to explore scholarships, payment plans, and other financial‑support options.
A laptop or tablet with a webcam, stable broadband (10 Mbps + recommended), and a headset are the essentials. All core apps (learning portal, virtual labs, AI‑powered study tools) run in a standard web browser—no special software to install.
Each learner is paired with a Student Success Mentor for weekly check ins, goal setting, and well being monitoring. We also offer counselling, university guidance, and clubs that foster social connection in our global community.
Absolutely. Students can join virtual debate teams, Model UN, coding hackathons, art studios, wellness challenges, and service projects. Local meet‑ups are organized twice a year in major hub cities.
Assignments are graded using mastery rubrics and real‑time analytics. Families receive monthly progress dashboards and detailed semester reports, and mentors host a live conference each term to discuss growth and next steps.
